Barrie’s Lyric Dubee takes home International Male Vocalist of the Year Award in Atlanta, Ga.
Barrie born and raised musician Lyric Dubee returned from Atlanta, Ga., this week after his first international showcase in two years at the International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA) Award ceremony. Dubee was nominated in two categories and took home International Male Vocalist of the Year.
ISSA is an organization dedicated to supporting independent artists and promoting aspiring musicians and professionals alike. There were 21 countries represented at this year’s awards.
“It was more than a show,” said Dubee. “It was the first true sign that the music industry, despite the dramatic hit of COVID-19, is making a comeback and will continue to grow and support the artists that dedicate everything to their crafts.”
Dubee also shared some of his thoughts and experiences from the award show: “I was so honoured to receive this award. I know I was up against some truly accomplished artists and would like to congratulate all the nominees and award winners. I’d also like to thank wonderful people at ISSA who donated countless hours of hard work to run this fantastic operation. It’s because of their efforts I was able to get back performing internationally.”
Dubee’s seventh and eighth releases will be the second EP to the “Sudden Death of Stars” trilogy. Also upcoming is the long-awaited acoustic album “Quiet Dreams.” Dubee began this project six years ago, with the original release and tour being delayed by the onset of COVID-19.
